Saint John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum)

Every year on the Summer Solstice, like clockwork, the St. John's Wort in our medicine garden is ready for harvest and we try to make enough St. John's Wort Oil to ideally get us through the entire year. 

Unlike our other oil infusions, we use fresh blossoms for this extract along with beautiful olive oil from Séka Hills, time (6-8 weeks), and the power of the sun. 

The bright yellow flowers slowly turn the oil into an incredible crimson hue thanks to a compound called hypericin.

When used topically it can be an excellent ally for the following:

• nerve pain
• spasms
• wounds
• bruises
• muscle pain
• sunburns
• blisters and more.

Not only is this a remedy that I personally rely on almost daily, but it's also the base of our Muscle & Joint Salve that so many of you love.
